A Message from Your Team Donovan Committee
Monday, June 18th, 2007This is Year 5 for Team Donovan’s participation in the Beach Cities Relay for Life being held on July 21-22 at Redondo Union High School. This is the same venue as last year. Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event. Participants collect donations prior to the event and teams camp-out at the track for 24 hours of festivities. During the event, at least one member of each team must be on the track at all times, crawling, walking, or running.
Team Donovan is celebrating Christmas in July for this year’s theme…because we feel ’tis the season for a cure. We have the largest team in this event so we hope we can gather as many of you as possible. We would love to have you there for all 24 hours but we would understand if you can only stop by for a while to show your support. Our team has raised over $135,000 over the past 4 years, while the event has raised over a million in the years that Team Donovan has participated.
We certainly hope that you would join us again this year, after all ’tis the season for giving, isn’t it?

A few more exciting things this year:
- Donation incentive: Last year, we raffled a weekend stay at The Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica so you can get people to help sponsor you if they donated $50 or more. This year we will raffle four tickets to Universal Studios, compliments of Annie Goshert from Coca-Cola.
- Team Donovan Store: people are already asking about this and we will continue to have lots of great stuff. Click here to see our list. If you have anything you would like to donate or know someone that would, please contact us.
- Silent Auction: Team Donovan is contributing the following just to name a few: a 2 night stay at The Huntley Hotel this year with premier ocean view, ND vs UCLA game, a photo session, complete set of clubs plus a golf bag from Taylor Made Golf, and more. So don’t forget to visit the Silent Auction booth and bid on the Team Donovan stuff. Money raised here will count towards our total.
- Autographed Sports Memorabilia on E-Bay: We have so many cool signed stuff donated by our Team Donovan friends and sponsors – from Luke Walton, John Lackey, Greg Maddux, Sergio Garcia, Pete Carrol just to name a few – that we felt we could raise the most if we brought it to a bigger audience. So check it out and place your bid!
- Electricity: Finally! So those of you who have not joined us at night or camped out before, now is the time! We will have a beautful display of Christmas lights in our booth plus our yearly Taco Bell midnight run!
